Virtual PD: Building and Sustaining Community & Restorative Justice
Registration: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/7CRNGA1zRFymapsyRk__wQ
Description: Instead of working “to” or “for” students and families, restorative practices focus on working “with” the community. Join this session to explore the building blocks of restorative practices and how to implement them to improve school culture and climate. Participants will learn practical strategies that engage and re-energize the learning community and how to integrate restorative practices with complementary approaches, such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, social-emotional learning, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. Participants will learn how to assess areas of strength and areas for growth in school culture and how to create and adapt action plans to support each other, students, and families throughout the year.
All professional development sessions teach skills and practices that you can implement immediately. Visit RestorativeDC.org/events to explore all restorative justice programming, by Restorative DC in collaboration with OSSE. Participants will receive two professional learning units (PLUs) for full participation in each session. For questions, email Jessica.Dulay@dc.gov.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. Please indicate any reasonable accommodations that will allow you to participate in this virtual event at least 3-5 days prior to start. Email us at rdc@schooltalkdc.org with any questions.
