This workshop will examine how restorative practices enhance and make possible relational pedagogy. We will discuss what both concepts are, how they intersect, and the impact that both have on student behavior and academic and cognitive development. Participants will have an opportunity to practice developing agreements and learning circles that focus on building relationships while practicing restorative guidelines and circle components.

This in-person session will be held at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) located at 1050 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20002. Parking is available near the office. Metro stops near OSSE on the Red Line are Union Station and NoMa / Gallaudet University.

DC Public School and DC Public Charter School staff are asked to register for this course through OSSE’s new learning management system (LMS) platform. Educators can follow the instructions here to activate their account. Staff will only be able to receive PLU’s by registering through the system. If you have issues or questions regarding the OSSE LMS registration, please contact Jessica Dulay via email at [email protected].
