Restorative Specialist Support
What is restorative specialist support?
A one-on-one or small-group session where you bring YOUR situation and questions, and our coaches and specialists tailor support to meet YOUR needs. Sessions may focus on discovery and exploration, skill-building, strategizing and planning, modeling practices, theory and philosophy, problem solving, and more. Our goal is for you to come away from each session with tools, resources, and action steps.
Who is it for?
YOU! Staff from public & public charter schools in the District, including teachers, behavior technicians, deans, psychologists, counselors, and others. Come one time or come all the time; this is your space.
What is it used for?
Any questions and situations are welcome. Examples include:
- I want to run more circles but I am having anxiety in this re-entry moment.
- My students are not engaging, not participating, and I don’t know what else to do.
- There are specific behaviors I just can’t see with a restorative lens.
- What can I do next if a student repeats an unwanted behavior after a restorative circle?
- I want to take a more restorative approach but don’t know where to start.
- I’m exhausted and burnt out; I don’t have patience or energy to be present with the kids.
How should I prepare?
Show up how you are, where you are. We will meet you there and guide you toward next steps.
