Successful restorative schools prioritize identifying and accommodating the needs of all students. Although the focus for students with disabilities tends to be on academic accommodations, restorative practices have a role in supporting peer to peer and student to teacher interactions. During this session, participants will brainstorm social emotional learning circle flows, lesson plans, practices, and/or strategies that can increase disability awareness within their classrooms and schools. Participants will also share stories to create a resource bank of Restorative practices that increase inclusion in their classrooms and schools.
- How can restorative practices support peer to peer interactions for students with disabilities?
- How do healthy relationships and interactions support positive behavior?
- How can restorative practices be used to help promote understanding of the needs and experiences of students with disabilities?
