Community of Practice – Creating Buy-In for Restorative Practices at School

October 19, 2023at9:30 am - 11:00 am

IN-PERSON SESSION

It is okay if we find it really difficult to establish interest and by-in amongst our colleagues as we seek to create a more restorative culture in our schools. We may feel extremely alone as a restorative leader. To remain energized in our restorative journey, it is important to have opportunities to hear and learn from other educators who are working through the same obstacles. During this Community of Practice, we will explore foundational processes and approaches that can help you build the relationships and interest needed in order to cultivate the types of restorative cultures we seek.

Guiding Questions

  • What obstacles make finding school-wide interest difficult?
  • What practices and routines have you found to be effective measures for creating by-end in your school setting?
  • What types of mindset shifts need to take place in order for our schools to see why restorative approaches matter?
  • If you could take one step towards continuing to create more by-end at your school, what would it be and who could support you in taking that step?
