January 28, 2025at9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Date: January 27 and 28,  2025 (Two Day Session)

Location: TBD

Target Audience: Administrators, Teachers, School Staff, Behavioral Support

Description: This session will build your capacity to practice restorative responses to behaviors in school. Using a restorative lens, participants will explore various techniques and strategies to effectively communicate with students when they disrupt community norms or expectations.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Participants will gain skills and tools to de-escalate students in heightened situations using restorative communication, including affective statements and restorative questions.
  • Individuals will consider their biases in their responses to student behavior and recognize how those biases impact consistent outcomes.
  • Throughout the workshop, facilitators will demonstrate the concept of fair process, an inclusionary practice that allows staff and students to be actively involved when there has been harm to the community.

All sessions use a trauma-informed approach and teach skills and practices that you can implement immediately.
