Using Restorative Practices for Tier 1 Check-Ins
August 3, 2022at1:00 pm
This workshop is designed for teachers, student support team members and leadership to proactively design systems and practices for Tier 1 check-ins. Tier 1 check-ins can be both proactive and responsive activities. As students and staff continue in-person learning, we aim to support students by creating learning environments that are safe beyond their physical security. Tier 1 check-ins allow time and space for reflection, connection and social-emotional learning, and lay the groundwork for learning to occur. Teachers, behavior and restorative justice staff, social workers, instructional coaches and deans will explore this process in and outside of the classroom, including how to engage families.
Facilitated by: Floyd N. Bronson, MA, MAHS, Yazid Jackson, Lisa Shaw, MS
