In Person PD: RJ for Young Learners
April 26, 2023at12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Location: In-Person, OSSE, Eleanor Holmes Norton Room 108
Description: Target Audience: Teachers, Teacher Supports, School Staff
For restorative practices to be useful for young learners, restorative practitioners must consider the developmental range of children in grades K-8 and accommodate a young learner’s attention span, energy level, learning style, and expressive and receptive language capacity. This experiential workshop for teachers, administrators, school staff, and early education workers will translate restorative practices to the primary school classroom by adapting proactive and responsive approaches to the developmental stages of K-8 students.
This in-person session will be held at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) located at 1050 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20002. Parking is available near the office. Metro stops near OSSE on the Red Line are Union Station and NoMa / Gallaudet University.
DC Public School and DC Public Charter School staff are asked to register for this course through OSSE’s new learning management system (LMS) platform. Educators can follow the instructions here to activate their account. Staff will only be able to receive PLU’s by registering through the system. If you have issues or questions regarding the OSSE LMS registration, please contact Jessica Dulay via email at [email protected].
